How to stay motivated in your business…. Use your why!
Imagine juggling flaming chainsaws while blindfolded… that’s how it feels to stay focused amid today’s wildfire of distractions, whether it be war, politics, inflation, relationships, etc. This list could go on and on, but let’s stop thinking about these things for even just a few minutes, let us take a deep breath together and recollect ourselves. Let’s get to the driving force of your business, the “Why”, you have to reconnect with your “Why” to move forward. The “Why”: Your “why” is your fuel, your compass, your anchor in the storm. It’s the reason you wake up before the sun and grind long after it sets. It’s the spark that ignites your creativity and propels you through challenges. But amidst the daily grind of to-do lists and hustle, that spark can sometimes get buried under a pile of paperwork and unanswered emails. Remember your purpose: What initially sparked your entrepreneurial journey? Was it solving a problem, creating something meaningful, or achieving financial freedom? Revisit your core values and remind yourself why you started this crazy ride. Vision and goals: Keep your vision for the future clear and revisit your long-term goals regularly. Break them down into smaller, achievable milestones to stay focused and celebrate each step forward. Talk to the people who believe in you. Your family, friends, and mentors can all help you remember your “why.” They can remind you of your strengths and your potential. Look for inspiration. Read stories about other entrepreneurs who have overcome challenges. Watch documentaries about people who have made a difference in the world. Do something that makes you happy. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of your business and do something that you enjoy. This will help you recharge your batteries and reconnect with your passion. I’ve been there too, I started a business with this burning vision of empowering others, of being this lighthouse navigating them towards fulfilling their own “why.” Then, somewhere along the way, the day-to-day churn sucked me in. Short-term goals became the siren song, luring me off course. Bills, numbers, metrics โ they all started drowning out the deeper purpose, the reason I jumped into this crazy world of entrepreneurship in the first place. It felt like I was piloting a plane with smoke alarms blaring, the ground rushing up to meet me. But that’s the thing, sometimes you have to nosedive before you remember to pull up. My near-crash woke me up. I looked around at the landscape below, a blur of transactions and spreadsheets, and realized it wasn’t the one I’d set out to see. So, I’m course-correcting. Rebooting the navigation system. Dusting off that original blueprint, the one with the bold mission painted across it. Because helping others find their “why,” that’s still what lights my spark, what makes the engine roar. And let me tell you, when you’re guiding someone else towards their own north star, it’s like finding your own again, only brighter. It’s not easy, this recalibration. But every time I connect with an entrepreneur, feel their own passion ignite, it’s a shot of fuel straight to my soul. It’s like we’re all in this caravan, navigating this wild terrain together, each with our own compass, but all headed towards a brighter horizon. So, yeah, I lost my “why” for a while. But the beauty is, you can always find it again. It’s like a buried treasure, just waiting to be unearthed. And when you do, that’s when the journey truly begins. Stay On Track: Remember, getting back on track is not about erasing the detour, but about incorporating the lessons learned and moving forward with renewed conviction. Your “why” is the anchor that keeps you grounded, the compass that guides you through storms, and the fuel that propels you towards a truly fulfilling journey. So, go forth, reignite your fire, and keep climbing towards that breathtaking vista! I believe in you and your ability to make a real difference. Now go out there and show the world the power of a motivated life!
